SUPCO EZ Set universal air pressure switch. It proves draft or airflow before the ignition sequence is allowed to continue, and its SPDT contacts can be wired for positive, negative or differential pressure.
The pressure switch is a safety device that confirms the inducer motor is pulling proper draft before allowing gas to flow. If it fails or can't close, the furnace won't ignite.
Before replacing the pressure switch, check: (1) Is the drain line clogged? (2) Is the inducer hose cracked? (3) Is the flue vent blocked? These are the most common causes.
