Our Story

How It Started

Local Contractor Becomes Go-To Distributor for Homeowners.

Open To Public HVAC Parts originated in 1998 as a service company (DNS Air Conditioning) founded by Danny, a local air conditioning contractor and father of three, along with his wife, Sonia, who managed the business’s administrative side.

When Danny saw how much homeowners were paying for simple AC repairs, he started selling parts directly from his own inventory. The idea was simple: give people the right parts and the know-how to fix it themselves.

What started in a garage has grown into the go-to HVAC parts store for the entire Dallas–Fort Worth area — with 27,000+ items in stock, free bench-testing at the counter, and a team that helps you troubleshoot before you buy. Browse our catalog or watch our free video tutorials to get started.

Common In-Store Questions

No, you don’t need to! In fact, we recommend keeping it assembled so we can accurately test the motor with the fan blade and blower wheel attached.

The wires lead into your electrical panel, where the capacitor, contactor, and other components are located. Once you’ve turned off the power to your condenser and confirmed it’s off with a voltmeter, you can proceed. There’s a removable panel that you can slide off. Take a picture of how everything is connected before disconnecting them from the electrical parts. While you’re at it, feel free to bring in your capacitor for testing as well!

No, our diagnostics and testing are done entirely in-store.

No problem! If you buy a motor from our store, we’ll assemble it for you at no extra cost. We can also take care of recycling your old motor. Just keep in mind that if you bring your motor in after 6:30 p.m., it won’t be ready until the next morning at 11:00 a.m.
