49100 – REPLACEMENT CRYSTAL (3-1/8″)
If you are moving into A2L work, the tank threads are the first thing that will stop you - R-454B and R-32 cylinders are LEFT-HAND threaded and a standard hose will not start on them. Beyond that, check what each tool is actually rated for: A2L-compatible pumps and recovery machines use brushless motors and non-sparking switches for a reason.

If the crystal (lens) on your manifold gauge is cracked, scratched, or cloudy, this replacement restores clear visibility. Fits 3-1/8″ (80mm) gauges like those on the Yellow Jacket BRUTE II and other dry manifold gauges. Polycarbonate construction resists impacts.
Specs: 80mm (3-1/8″) polycarbonate replacement crystal. Yellow Jacket 49100.
Replaces: 49100
Fits: Yellow Jacket BRUTE II manifolds and other 3-1/8″ dry manifold gauges.

Will my R-410A gauges work on R-454B or R-32?
Not automatically. A2L refrigerants like R-454B and R-32 need equipment rated for them. Analog manifolds generally need to be A2L-rated sets; digital manifolds often need a software update to carry the A2L pressure-temperature curves. Check what the tool itself is rated for rather than assuming.
Why will my hoses not thread onto an A2L tank?
A2L cylinders use LEFT-HAND (reverse) threads on the valve, so a standard hose will not start. You need the reverse-threaded adaptor. That is a deliberate keying change, not a defective tank.
Does my vacuum pump need to be A2L rated?
For A2L work, yes. A2L-compatible pumps use brushless motors and non-sparking switches because the refrigerant is mildly flammable. The same thinking applies to recovery machines, recovery cylinders and leak detectors - a leak detector built for R-22 is not rated to sniff an A2L.
What is the difference between standard, low-loss and ball valve hose fittings?
Standard fittings vent whatever is in the hose when you disconnect. Low-loss fittings seal as you break the connection so that charge stays in the hose instead of in the air. Ball valve ends give you a positive shut-off at the hose. Low-loss is the minimum worth buying now.
How many hoses do I need?
A three-hose set covers it - low side, high side and the centre line to the tank, vacuum pump or recovery machine. 60 inch is the usual length for residential work.
Do you sell refrigerant itself?
This category is refrigerant tooling - gauges, hoses, pumps and fittings. For refrigerant, come to the counter at 10226 Plano Rd, Suite 104 in Dallas and we will tell you what we have and what you need to buy it.
Do I have to be certified to buy these tools?
The tools, no. Refrigerant itself is a different question and depends on the refrigerant. Ask at the counter.
