The transformer steps down line voltage to 24V for the control circuit. This 100VA model handles higher loads than standard 40VA transformers — use it when your system has multiple zones, powered humidifiers, or other 24V accessories that draw more current. The built-in circuit breaker protects the transformer from overloads.
