If your furnace is short-cycling, check the filter first — a clogged filter causes the limit switch to trip. If the filter is clean, then the switch itself may be failing.

Description
If your furnace is short-cycling (turning on and off repeatedly), a failed limit switch may be the cause. This manual reset switch opens at 130°F to shut down the system if it overheats. Push the reset button to restart after it trips.

Replaces: PRL130, SRL130
Fits: Universal — works in most residential gas furnaces from Goodman, Carrier, Trane, Rheem, Lennox, York, and others using a micro-base L130 limit switch.
