80010 – DOUBLE SHAFT BLOWER MOTOR (1/4 HP, 1625 RPM, 240V) (M10)
Double-shaft direct-drive blowers fail almost always because the cap got weak and the bearings overheated. Before driving over, pull the cap and bring it — we test free. If it's the motor, match HP, RPM, voltage, AND rotation direction (CW or CCW from shaft end). Wrong rotation will burn a new motor in days. Bring the old one in; we'll match it.

If your indoor unit runs but produces weak or no airflow, the blower motor may need replacement. This double-shaft motor is commonly found in First Company air handlers and similar HVAC equipment. Symptoms of failure include no blower operation, squealing noises, or intermittent airflow.

Fits these models
- Universal aftermarket replacement for older PSC direct-drive double-shaft blower motors
- Common applications: pre-2010 Rheem / Ruud / Goodman / Carrier / Bryant / Trane direct-drive blower assemblies
- Verify HP, RPM, voltage, AND rotation direction (CW or CCW viewed from shaft end) match your existing motor
How do I check rotation direction?
Look at the shaft end. CW (clockwise) viewed from the shaft means the blower wheel pulls air toward the motor body. CCW pulls air away. Wrong rotation will burn out the motor and break the wheel within days. The data plate marks rotation; bring the old motor in if it's faded.
What's 4-speed PSC mean?
The motor has 4 winding taps for different speeds, color-coded leads (typically black=high, blue=med-high, yellow=med-low, red=low, white=common). Wire to the speed tap your blower needs; cap unused leads.
Why do double-shaft motors keep failing?
Texas heat, weak run caps, and dirty squirrel-cage blowers cause 95% of double-shaft failures. Clean the blower wheel, replace the cap on schedule (every 5-7 years), and the motor will last.
Can I swap a 3-speed for a 4-speed?
Yes — the extra speed gives you finer airflow control. Wire to whichever tap matches your needs, cap the unused leads.
