Heat Kits Now Stocked in Dallas: Older + Newer Air Handler Models (10–20 kW)

At Open To Public HVAC Parts, we’ve expanded our in-store stock of electric heat kits (strip heat) for older and newer air handlers—including common 10 kW, 15 kW, and 20 kW options across major brands. If you bring your air handler model number (or existing heat kit part number), we can help match the correct kit quickly.

What is an electric heat kit?

An electric heat kit (often called heat strips) installs inside a compatible air handler and provides electric heat capacity, typically rated in kilowatts (kW). When matched correctly, a heat kit can:
Restore auxiliary / emergency heat when a kit has failed
Support proper staging when the system calls for additional heat
Offer a direct replacement solution without replacing the entire air handler

How to match the right heat kit (the fastest method)
Heat kits are not universal. The best way to prevent mismatches is to identify the kit using:
Air handler model number (best)
Existing heat kit part number (if replacing)
Required kW size (10 kW / 15 kW / 20 kW)
If you’re unsure which category your system falls into (older piston vs newer TXV, refrigerant family, etc.), the model number is the quickest path to an accurate match.

Safety and install considerations
Heat kits involve high-voltage electrical components. Proper selection and safe installation practices matter. Before any work begins, a qualified individual should confirm:
The air handler is approved for the exact heat kit family
Electrical supply and breaker sizing are appropriate for the kW load
Wiring and staging are configured correctly for the system
Power is locked out and verified off prior to servicing

In-store pickup and help matching
